The Joint Select Panel on IEBC reforms has agreed on a dignified negotiated vacation for the commissioners.
In a statement on Friday, the team agreed to appoint new commissioners after Cord conceded to a selection panel of nine.
This includes a representative each from the Catholic Church, NCCK, Evangelical Alliance of Kenya, Supkem, Hindu Council, LSK, KEPSA and two from the Parliamentary Service Commission.
The Public Service Commission will provide a secretariat to guide with the technical aspects of reconstituting the new electoral body.
On Register, the committee has agreed that there shall be no fresh register.
Instead, the current register will be subjected to scrutiny through forensic audit by one forensic audit firm of international repute and one other body with international experience and expertise on electoral matters.
The committee has also agreed on mechanisms to block party hopping and empower Political Parties Disputes Tribunal to hear nomination cases.
