The driver of the Nyamagwa Girls' school bus that overturned in Kisii, killing three students, was arrested on Sunday.
Erick Gituma was taken to Ogembo police station where he will record a statement, NTSA director general Francis Meja said in a statement.
The accident occurred on Kisii-Itumbe-Igare road while the students returned to school from a road trip they took to celebrate the purchase of the bus.
Meja earlier said Gituma, an Associated Motors driver, had been speeding when the overloaded vehicle overturned while negotiating a sharp corner.
The 52-seater vehicle had 78 students at the time of the accident in Rioma area.
