Emery smashed Arsenal’s transfer record on Thursday after completing a £72m deal to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille with the attacker becoming our fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Gabriel Martinelli, William Saliba and Dani Ceballos.

However, the Gunners coach isn’t done yet as he’s desperately been trying to get a deal agreed for Tierney after identifying the Celtic star as the man to strengthen our left-back options amid on-going doubts surrounding Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac.

After seeing two offers rejected, the Daily Mail claimed earlier this week that Arsenal had made a third bid to sign Tierney after agreeing to restructure our £25m offer to ensure Celtic would get a bigger majority of the fee up front.

It seems we’re confident the latest bid will be enough to get a deal done with the SPL champions as the Express claim Arsenal expect Tierney to complete a £25m move to the Emirates over the coming days.

The 22-year-old should prove to be an excellent signing as Tierney has been one of the best left-backs in British football in recent years and I think he’d be a big upgrade on the likes of Monreal and Kolasinac.

The Scottish international is solid defensively and a threat going forward while he’s also comfortable playing in a back four or at wing-back so he’d be able to play in both of Emery’s preferred systems if he does join Arsenal this summer.

It looks like it’s going to be a busy final week of the window as the Express claims Arsenal are also in the market for an established central defender as we look to offload Shkodran Mustafi so we could see two more new arrivals soon.

Mustafi has been a disaster since joining the club from Valencia so hopefully we can find a buyer for the German defender while Laurent Koscielny is also expected to leave as he looks to try and force a move back to France.

If both Mustafi and Koscielny leave then Emery will definitely need to sign a top class centre-back before the window closes so it’s going to be interesting to see who we go for. The Daily Mail have reported we’ve made an offer to sign Daniele Rugani on loan from Juventus and I think he’d be a terrific signing.
