Apple enthusiasts looking to upgrade their iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch won’t be disappointed. During the Cupertino, California’s much anticipated annual product event Tuesday, Chief Executive Tim Cook used his time on stage to wow the audience with upgraded versions of Apple products including its flagship iPhone. As expected Apple announced the iPhone 11, which includes a new wide lens camera and the highest quality video camera ever found in an iPhone. The device comes in six new colors including purple, white, green, red, black and yellow and will sell for $699. Apple also unveiled the latest generation of its A13 Bionic chip, which it said boosts the performance of the device even more. The camera has a wide and ultra-wide lens, which gives users the ability to crop and zoom after taking the photos. The phone also comes with a new night mode and a battery that lasts an hour longer.
“Customers love the iPhone and we keep trying to make it better and better,” said Cook during the event. “The 10 R has become the most popular iPhone and the most popular smartphone in the world.” Apple also announced the iPhone 11 Pro, which has a 5.8 -inch screen and the iPhone 11 pro Max, which boasts a 6.5-inch screen. The iPhone 11 Pro is targeted at customers who want a ton of advanced technology in a single device. The device comes in green, space gray, silver and gold. The display also got an overhaul with an OLED screen that is brighter and is more energy-efficient. Those two devices also include Apple’s new A13 Bionic chip.
The iPhone 11 Pro will start at $999 and the iPhone 11 Pro Max will go for $1099. Pre-orders for the devices opens Friday at 5:00 a.m. Pacific time. They will start shipping on September 20.
On the iPad front, Apple announced it is replacing its sixth generation model with a seventh-generation model that comes with a 10.2-inch display and works with its new iPad OS. The device has better brightness, more of a viewing angle and an A10 Fusion chip. The iPad will start at $320.
The company also used the event to announce the Apple Watch Series 5 which will sell for $399 for a GPS version and $499 for a cellular-based model. The new Apple Watch comes with an always-on display, an 18-hour battery life, and a built-in compass. Apple is keeping its Series 3 Watch but announced its cutting the price to $199.
The Apple Watch Series 5 comes in an assortment of new cases and includes international emergency calling even if you don’t have the cellular version of the device.
