The wife of Simon Gashwe, the former Chairman of Naivas chain of markets has died, barely three weeks after the burial of her husband.
A funeral announcement from the family indicated that Monica Wanjiru Gashwe, 58, died on Monday at Aga Khan University Hospital after ‘after a long illness bravely borne.”
Her body is being preserved at Lee Funeral home and will be buried at Langa’ata cemetery on Thursday.
The two married in 1982 and had four children together. They had eight grandchildren.
Naivas is one of the country’s largest supermarket chain with over 54 outlets.
